The C2PAC2PA: The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity: the group that publishes the open standard for content labels. sets the open standard for content labels. It keeps public lists of tested tools and trusted signers. Encypher is on them. Each link opens the record.

A checker trusts a signature when the signer's certificate was issued by a certificate authority on the C2PA Trust List, and trusts the timestamp when it comes from an authority on the C2PA TSA Trust List. The Conforming Products List shows the signing tool was tested.
Trust is about who signed and when. It does not make the content true.

The official C2PA Conforming Products List records Encypher as a conformant generator product at assurance Level 1, with generation and validation coverage across 20 media types (conformance dated May 26, 2026). Encypher's claim-signing and timestamp authorities appear on the official C2PA Trust Lists.

What a label proves, and what it does not.

Four of the five answers a provenance check can give: Verified, Modified after signing, Issuer not recognized, and No provenance found. The fifth is Could not verify.
A check reports who signed and whether the content changed. It never says whether the content is true.
  • It shows who signed the work and what they said about it, like if AI made it.
  • It shows whether the work changed after it was signed.
  • It does not prove the work is true, who owns it, or that it is legal.
  • Some edits strip a label. A check then finds no label, not a false one.
